5 SMART TIPS / CREDIT CONTROL
Illustrative cover · Practical ways to approach your generation budget.
A little reaction?

The aim is not to make every generation free. It is to spend deliberately. An unwanted but completed clip can still cost credits, so the useful question is how to avoid attempts that teach you nothing. Why attempts add up ↗

TIP 01 / PLAN BEFORE YOU PAY

1. Finish the shot brief before generating.

Write the subject, action, setting, light, camera, duration, and sound needs before the first run. Resolve obvious contradictions on paper instead of paying to discover them in the output. Plan the shot ↗

My workflow suggestion: define what would make the shot usable. If the goal is a readable product turn, judge that movement first rather than adding a new creative request after every attempt.

✦ Check the type of failure

A completed clip you dislike is different from a technical failure. Refund handling has model-specific details; check Usage and the failed-generation guide before assuming every rejected attempt is billable.

TIPS 02–03 / REFERENCES AND DRAFTS

2. Stabilize the input. 3. Compare draft costs.

Tip 2: Use a clear reference when identity or composition matters. Keep it stable during a test. A changing reference and a changing prompt make it harder to identify what improved the shot. Reference and iteration guide ↗

Tip 3: Compare the cost of supported draft settings or lighter model variants. Use an appropriate test before committing to final output settings. A different model may respond differently, so confirm the final look on the model you will deliver with. Draft and final choices ↗

Planning example. Replace with the reference or brief used for a test.

Review example. Replace with a result frame and the setting that changed.

TIPS 04–05 / COST AND ITERATION

4. Check the price. 5. Set a retry rule.

Tip 4: Read Generate after changing the model, resolution, or duration. The displayed cost updates with those choices. Look at Usage to understand where previous credits went. Costs and usage history ↗

Tip 5: Set an attempt limit and change one variable at a time. Keep a useful result instead of restarting out of habit. When the model supports a targeted edit, consider whether fixing that detail would answer the brief better than another full reroll.

BEFORE GENERATE / COST CHECK

What does this attempt cost?

Confirm the current model and settings. Compare the displayed price with the question this attempt will answer.
BEFORE A RETRY / STOP CHECK

What exactly are you changing?

Name one change. If you cannot explain why it should help, pause and revise the brief first.

BONUS / READ THE ACCESS CONDITIONS

“Unlimited” still has a scope.

Check whether your selected model is included, whether the access period is active, and whether Unlimited is switched on. It applies on higgsfield.ai; automated routes such as MCP or CLI still deduct credits. Verify your current entitlement before treating a generation as free. Unlimited conditions ↗

FAQ / A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before spending another credit.

Will these tips guarantee a specific saving?

No. These are workflow suggestions for avoiding unnecessary attempts. Results and costs depend on the model, settings, brief, and current account access.

Does every failed attempt spend credits permanently?

Do not assume that. Completed but unsuitable output and technical failures are handled differently. Check the current refund guidance and your Usage history for the model used.

Where can I check my spending?

Open Manage Account → Usage. The history shows deductions, returns, and model spending. The official credit guide explains the log and its availability.

Does Unlimited cover every model and tool?

No. It applies to specific models and an access period on the Higgsfield website. Read your current entitlement and conditions before generating.

Did this spark an idea?

A small reaction is a lovely way to mark the moment.
